105k miles and the knocking only happens when I am going up on the RPMs. No noise during idle. No power loss. No metal in the oil. No smoke out the exhaust. Not sure what it is as of yet.

Just changed oil, oil filter, and spark plugs. I looked around online and someone with a 2011 (or 2013, I don't remember) Kia Rio had a similar problem, and he ended up replacing the tensioner.
